52: PUT POSITIVE ON REPEAT

Fri 27 July 20.10 - Mooning Monthly Edition 52 tuning in and turning on the upbeat....

Moonlit salutations friends

Hot on the heels of the Solar Eclipse a fortnight back, this week's full moon in Aquarius gets the Lunar Eclipse treatment. Ol' Mama Earth wedges herself between Sun and Moon causing the stunning phenomenon of a blood red moon as Earth's shadow gently sweeps across Luna's dusty, cratered face. The incredible beauty of the event will only be fully visible across Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia but if you go out for a moonlit promenade between 8 and 9pm in the UK this Friday evening you might witness a nonetheless memorable reddish glow across the lower regions of her pearly chops.

A lunar eclipse gives an extra boost to any full moon influence, full moons traditionally being thought of as emotionally charged periods for purging, cleansing and harvesting of earlier sown seeds of intent. With the moon in Aquarius, not the most naturally trusting sign in the zodiac, we might see a temporary return to the soul searching, self-confidence issues so prevalent in the early months of this year. As ever, instead of capitulating to a sense of inadequacy, we here at Mooning HQ see such periods as positive opportunities to question our habitual behaviours and responses to circumstance in order to more effectively create the experience we want from life. We like to call the process, Mooning.

A fortnight back at the Solar Eclipse, we were suggesting, in a slightly back to front fashion, that to align with what we DO want in life, it is sometimes practical to be clear about what we DON'T want, in order to instigate change. This week calls for a far more direct approach to proceedings. Our focus should be, quite acutely, on the stuff we DO want to manifest in life utilising the independent, sharp minded Aquarius influence to concentrate our thoughts, words and deeds solely in that direction. The plan will be to avoid wasting energy on any negative thoughts at all in order to make the most of these potentially propitious cosmic conditions.

The biggest obstacles to truly getting what we want from life are normally self administered notions of personal worthiness. We often fall into chronic patterns of thought that counteract our best intentions by reinforcing beliefs about us not deserving the good things in life; in finance, family, relationships, employment etc. A belief is merely a thought that we keep thinking. Repeated often enough, 'I am not worthy' becomes the mantra that prefaces and epilogues any well intentioned desire to improve your life experience. That singular belief (just a thought we keep thinking remember) is enough to negate any progressive, expansive change in the direction of your desires, however, under this Aquarius Full Moon Eclipse we can consciously purge ourselves of such illegitimate, self-defeating nonsense.

Here are some other beliefs that deserve to be challenged under this Aquarius New Moon:

Life's a shit and then you die....

There is a right way and a wrong way to live....

With hard work, anything is possible....

Compromise is inevitable....

I am not worthy....

Mummy and Daddy know best....

I end where my skin ends.....

I'll find what I'm looking for somewhere else....

I'd be happier if I could control the behaviour of others.....

To enjoy a harmonious relationship we have to want and believe the same things....

I have to suffer for my art.....

There is a God Who has, over time, worked it all out and come to a final and correct conclusion about everything....

Life should be about pleasing others....

It's wrong to be selfish....

Boys don't cry (followed by the despicable command to 'Man up!')

Football is important....

Just add your tried and tested favourites to the list dear Mooners. There is an inexhaustible library of deep seated beliefs, many of which we have held since the earliest days of childhood, some of which we are currently in the process of forming and reinforcing. All are merely the product of repetitive patterns of thinking that directly shape our life experience or 'reality' minute by minute. The positive ones such as I love myself and I live in an abundant Universe allow all manner of goodies to flow our way. The negative ones are our subliminal but often dominant resistance to allowing good stuff to happen, stopping our dreams from coming true.

These beliefs are not you - quite the opposite. They are the habitual, conditioned personal, mental and emotional baggage that inform, on a daily basis, our life choices and more regularly prevent us from engaging with who we truly are and our purpose for being here. It is these deeply engrained, largely negative, habitually repeated beliefs that keep us from the things that we want.

Our natural state of being is actually to be happy and at peace with ourselves and our circumstances. Observe a young child at play without a care in the world, happy for hours eating dirt at the bottom of the garden or on the beach and you'll perhaps recall your own distant childhood state of natural well-being. More pertinently to adulthood, when we find ourselves lost in the moment, concentrating on some creative task, outdoor activity or simply lounging on a sunbed drifting in and out of sleep, we become aware that hours have past unnoticed such has been our effortless, joyous reverie.

Such joy is a clear indicator that we're in alignment with life or letting ourselves go with the flow: a state of allowance in which everything is included without restriction. This is a totally positive state, usually accompanied by the tell tale signs of relaxed contentedness, so it's quite easy to spot when our negative belief systems are coming into play because we very quickly start to feel crap. This can be as simple as flipping from a positive state of appreciation to one of criticism - of a friend, lover, child, parent, colleague; a change in the weather; a work of art, a type of car; other people's lifestyle choices; what's served for dinner; someone else's beliefs or success, a flower display...whatever....where we automatically impose restrictive thoughts on the circumstances that need to be in place for us to be happy.

The self imposed restrictions of our repetitive negative thought patterns (beliefs) directly affect our ability to get back into the flow that naturally brings all the joy. In effect, the negative thinking knocks us off the path to our birthright of unrestricted, happily abundant well being. It's not rocket science. When our life experience is forced or feels uncomfortable, the suggestion here is that we're out of whack in thought, word and deed and veering away from our natural state of happiness. If our experience is fun, flows with ease and feels good then the encouragement is to jump in and follow that stream of thought for more of the same. If we want to stay joyful, the trick is to spot when we're the negative thought patterns kick in and immediately realign to the positive by finding good things to think instead. For many of us it requires a complete retraining of our habitual responses, but practiced regularly, even over a short period of time, the results can be tangibly rewarding. Give it a go Joe.

Here's a plan:

Sharpen up your self awareness by clocking every time you sense a dip in your natural state of well being or happiness. Become aware of the thoughts that accompany the dip, particularly if they are focussed on external circumstances - be that your partner, children, parents; the state of the kitchen, state of your bank balance; state of the nation, Brexit buffoonery, weather conditions, sex-life, pond-life, park-life et al. The degree to which you focus your negative thought on anything will be directly proportionate to the resistance you create to having those circumstances change into stuff you actually want. It's the central premise of the Law of Attraction: that which is like unto itself, is drawn. The degree to which you focus positively on anything, fully imagining the sensations of achieving your heart's desire, will be directly proportionate to the allowance of those circumstances to manifest in your favour.

Work it out Mooners. Think negatively and guess what awaits us round the corner - more of the same. Think positively and let the good times roll. It seems simplistic but that's because it is. In choosing our thoughts now, regardless of how we've brought ourselves up to think previously, we align ourselves with the immeasurable, inclusive, expansive power of All that is. Intelligent evolution can't move in any other way than positively so we either train ourselves to align with that expansion, enjoying the fruits of its limitless abundance, or we don't and miss out.

Under the shining beauty of the forthcoming Aquarius Full Moon, let's resolve to play it positive dear friends and keep the track on repeat, allowing ALL your dreams to manifest beautifully.

With love 'til next time
